Earth Is What We All Have In Common

To me, EARTH (along with WOVENHAND) epitomizes modern Americana music.  That means only Europeans should appreciate it.  Not entirely true.  The band has found a loyal following among, of all people, the American metal community.  Sometimes slow and heavy is all you need.  If I was to stage an EARTH show, my first choice would be the Grand Canyon Skywalk.  Or maybe the acoustics would be better deep, down within that gaping hotel.  Either way, hearing Dylan Carlson & Co in that setting seems like a the perfect way to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii.  One can dream.   

It's not quite a Roman ampitheatre but EARTH makes their way to the Echoplex Saturday night.  In support will be the ENTRANCE BAND who (putting aside that god-awful MLK song) should offer a blend of raw psych blues that they have yet to capture on record, driven by the infectious bass riffs of Paz Lenchantin that free up Guy Blakeslee to just go off.
