Fight Amp Returns To Take Souls
Tuesday, April 26, 2011 This is no mere garage punk; this is a finely tuned assault with booming, modern production. It's not "dope, guns, and fucking in the streets," but it's pretty fucking dope.
That is probably the one and only time Cosmo will ever use the word "dope" in a review. For those of you not in the know, Dope, Guns, and Fucking In the Streets is AmRep's compilation series that runs at least 11 volumes. It's basically flawless and best represents how I choose to remember the '90s. Now the west coast band that also draws comparisons to the roster of that famed Minneapolis label is San Francisco's KOWLOON WALLED CITY. We have been hoping they would grace our city with a visit for sometime now. While we wait, we'll have to settle for the new tracks on Lose/Lose/Lose, the three way split 12" they fittingly just released with FIGHT AMP and LADDER DEVILS on Brutal Panda Records that features two songs from each band. Just 300 available and hopefully a few will be available at the show this Thursday at Mountain Bar in Chinatown. If not, you can purchase one here. Here's a digital taste of FIGHT AMP's contribution:
