“If Some People Didn't Tell You, You'd Never Know They'd Been Away On A Vacation”

We are on vacation for the next week so new posts will be sparse or non-existent.  When we return, there will be a string of ticket giveaways for upcoming shows at the Spaceland and Goldenvoice venues, beginning with BORIS.  And while we're popping Ambiens and downing Woodford Reserve at the gate waiting to board the red eye en route to the the Green Mountains, you should be on your own Vacation at 3815 W. Sunset Blvd.  Two bands that left their mark at yesterday's outstanding and well-attended Power of the Riff Festival--NAILS and BLACK BREATH--will be part of a Southern Lord showcase that  begins at 7 PM.  After what we saw during the NAILS set last night, we have our doubts whether the store will emerge from this unscathed.  Be gentle, at least somewhat.  Founding father Greg Anderson will also be there spinning records, featuring the new BXI album, a surprising collaboration between BORIS and THE CULT's Ian Astbury.
