A Pilgrimage to The Shrine

Last month we received the new 7" on green vinyl from local trio THE SHRINE, produced by former Black Flag bassist Chuck Dukowski.  It's pretty easy on the ears, the boys can clearly play, and it didn't take long to imagine this unsigned band finding a comfortable home on a label like Small Stone.  But it was at the 2:12 mark of "Olympic Airstream" that we really started taking notice.  Not unlike EARTHLESS, traditional song structures may not be THE SHRINE's best friend.  This is a band that may be better served by breaking the rules and shooting for the stars.  Tomorrow night at Relax Bar offers a window into their potential, as they're part of very solid bill that also includes BEHOLD! THE MONOLITH and VOODOO MERCHANT.  Here's a teaser for you:
