It seems like a long time ago that
Metal Mondays gave me an excuse to come down from the mountain and knock back a few whiskeys at Footsies. We can debate the reasons for the unceremonious end to that night but what's the point. A new group of DJs has decided to give it another try, under a different name and with a format that is intended to scare fewer ladies away. Starting tomorrow evening, the bar is giving them a trial run over three nights, every other week (7/26, 8/9, 8/23), to see if they can accomplish that mission. With bands like
DANGEROUS TOYS finding their way on to DJ Juan Perez's playlist, how can they fail?

Some of you have commented in the past that DJ nights just can't compare to live music. Well, tonight you can experience both, back-to-back, if you begin the festivities at The Blvd in Boyle Heights. That's my plan. All of these bands are worthy of your ears. We've covered WILDILDLIFE and GYPSYHAWK (here and here) before.
