Say Farewell to 1349

Black metal bands seem to have more trouble than most getting into this country.  1349 is no exception.  Let's just blame that on the religious right.  If all the visa bullshit wasn't complicated enough, 1349 also had to deal with the fallout from the volcano.  We'll blame that on the religious right as well.  God hates them all.  The end result was that the band was forced to miss the first few shows of their tour with CANNIBAL CORPSE, and once they finally arrived, they had to go on without the legendary Frost for a few days.  The Evisceration Plague Tour comes to end Thursday night at the House of Blues on Sunset, but the party will continue through Friday with a couple of special events before they return to Europe:

Norwegian black metal band, 1349 will be appearing at Vacation Vinyl in Hollywood CA on Friday evening, May 7th, for a meet and greet and a signing session. The band will be wrapping up their leg of the Cannibal Corpse tour the night before. 1349 CDs, limited edition 12” picture discs and other merch will be available that night. To GUARANTEE an opportunity to meet the band, purchasing something that night is suggested. This is free and open to all ages.

Vacation Vinyl
4679 Hollywood Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90027
7:30pm – 9:00pm
All Ages Welcome

Immediately following the in-store appearance, the band will head to Hank’s Bar, in downtown Los Angeles, where they’ll be hosting a tour wrap up party. Their new album, “Demonoir,” which hit the streets in North America on Prosthetic Records on April 27, will be played in its entirety. There will be DJ sets from John Strachan (The Funeral Pyre), Dan Dismal (Crematorium, Church of the 8th Day) and Pete Majors (Harrassor). There will be Colt 45 specials throughout the night, while supplies last. There’s plenty of street parking and cheap lots in the area.

Hank’s Bar (in the Stillwell Hotel)
840 S. Grand Ave
Downtown Los Angeles, CA
10pm-2am
21+ only!

If you can’t make it to either event and haven’t gotten “Demonoir” yet, the North American versions of the album; a digipack CD and a limited edition (only 666 made) 12” picture disc LP  are available: http://store.prostheticrecords.com/index.php/sales-preorders/preorders

“Demonoir” is without a shadow of a doubt 1349’s darkest, most sinister and brutal work to date, and in this case it comes to mean that the band has gone from the utterly extreme to the genre-expanding and mindboggling. Black Metal cannot, and will never be the same.

For “Demonoir,” 1349 decided to suck out the fiercest and most potent energies from every single member and surroundings, channeling it into songs that are pulsating with uncanny atmospheres, rawness and nerve shattering intensity. The whole process of getting the material on record was like one long, exhausting black magic summoning that could not be allowed to go wrong.
