Weedeater Ticket Giveaway
Monday, March 22, 2010 We've got four individual tickets to give out to the L.A. stop on Friday of the "Nine Toe" tour - named after the recent accidental self-removal of WEEDEATER frontman "Dixie" Dave Collins's toe via a shotgun cleaning incident. This is a lineup that is solid from top to bottom and warrants getting there early to experience local doom band YIDHRA. We need more local doom so go support your own. The Ultra Violet is also undergoing some improvements:
The club is really starting to take shape. The bar has a lot more drinks available, the walls are filling up with gigantic pieces of artwork from some pretty well known artists, and the sound and lights are getting better and better.
Now if we could only leave and get some tacos. To enter the contest:

Second the "leave for tacos" request, though I have yet to experience the pleasures of El Atacor. Given this neighborhood is right on an active rail line, I can't buy that allowing re-entry would risk creating too much noise for residents. After a near slip and fall in the men's room at St. Vitus (and I was surely among the more sober in the crowd), I'd be pleased to find some floor texture among the improvements. And if that's too much to ask at this point, a steady supply of paper towels would be nice.
