• California black/death metal trio VALDUR recently unleashed a new 7" with two new exclusive tracks.  You can order it here.  The band is holed up in the Bloody Mountain Bunker up in Mammoth orking on their next full-length to be released in early summer.  

• You can download "The First Supper", the first single from the DAUGHTERS record due out on March 9th on Hydra Head on iTunes or Amazon now.  Self-Titled can be pre-ordered here. 

• Hydra Head is also making public XASTHUR's two-track demo, entitled 2005 Demo, that was recorded just prior to Subliminal Genocide and mastered especially for this release.  It can be pre-ordered here.  

• LA Weekly chronicles the death of the A&R man.

• MAYHEM cancels their tour (including a stop at the Fonda) "due to the financial situation."

• LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR will release their fourth full-length, Evil Power, on thir own label, The Grind-House Records,  on April 13th with distribution via their former label, Southern Lord.  The new track "We Are Hades" can be streamed at their MySpace site.

• The eight minute title track from HIGH ON FIRE's fifth studio album, Snakes for the Divine, can be heard at Spin.  Pre-order the record at iTunes and get two bonus tracks:  a live version of "Blood From Zion" recorded at Bonnaroo 2009 and a demo version fo the new track "Fire, Flood & Plague." 

• Seattle's BLACK BREATH, who will be in town to play the El Rey with CONVERGE on May 18th, will release their debut full-length, Heavy Breathing, via Southern Lord on March 30th.  

• And finally, LA's symphonic black metallers SOTHIS release another video from their Candelight Records debut (mixed by Andy LaRoque, legendary guitarist for KING DIAMOND) as they continue to work on the follow-up.  A smaller budget this time around, but in our view, a better result.
