Iron Age in Anaheim Tonight!
Wednesday, August 5, 2009
Rarely do we post much about events going on down in the O.C. but one exception is when a band doesn't also schedule an LA gig. That happened last week with BISON b.c. (who we just learned will support KYLESA at the Knitting Factory at the end of September) and now again tonight with Tee Pee's IRON AGE. I don't know much about this band other that an endorsement by Tee Pee is usually a reliable indication of a good time. Metal Sucks recently reviewed their new album, The Sleeping Eye, and declared:
This is music for fans of fucking furious, tight, beer-soaked, basement mosh-pit party metal like Trash Talk and Bison B.C., Metallica Ride The Lightning-era guitar riffs pushed to the fullest and real in every way with nary a speck of hipster retro throwback. The Sleeping Eye kicks as much ass as any thrash-influenced record released all year
So far, so good. We totally agree that bands that just bring us back to the good ol' days of high school have no future. Check out a stream of the album at the bottom of this Metal Sucks post. And, if you like what you hear, then head on down to Chain Reaction tonight to see if their live show meets the hype. It's all-ages.

LOVE this record. Totally blown away. Wish I'd known about this. Actually, wish they'd played LA, although I think they were up here for that Sound and Fury festival and they don't allow bands to play LA while they're out here for the fest, even though it's up in Oxnard.
