Big Business In-Store @ Vacation Vinyl

We already told you about the BIG BUSINESS free Scion show with TORCHE at the Knitting Factory on Wednesday night. You can still RSVP for it here. Tomorrow night (Tuesday, 8/4) at 7 PM, the boys will do an in-store at one of our favorite new establishments, Vacation Vinyl on 4679 Hollywood Blvd in Los Feliz. Here's the plan - buy a sixer at the gas station across the street, catch the Business and then stumble down the street to Cheetah's to finsh the night off. Now the show is being billed as "KARAOKE with BIG BUSINESS," and while I'm pretty sure there is a band named Karaoke out there, I'm also pretty sure this event is about dragging your American Idol self out of the closet with one of the finest backing bands this country can offer. They did just get back from a Melvins gig in Japan. Anyway, the store invites you to call for details - (323) 666-2111.

And as an extra enticement, if you spend $15 at the store between 7 and 9 PM, you can take home a Mind the Drift Ceramic Collectors Plate while supplies last. Think about the possibility of getting your mom's holiday present out of the way in August just by purchasing a record.  So sweet.

Some info directly from BIG BUSINESS about their appearances today and tomorrow.  They are participating in the first two steps of our suggested plan.  Unclear whether they will make it to Cheetah's:

Two awesome things in two days- First:Big Biz will be performing your favorite Karaoke hits at Vacation Records Tuesday, 8/4 (that's today!) at 7pm. We'll sing the songs you want to hear, sing with you, or you can go solo. Ever wanted to see Toshi sing "Hello" by Lionel Richie? Here's your chance! Coady in his underwear doing his best Tom Cruise to Bob Seger? Can do! Jared crying his way through "Wind Beneath My Wings"? Happens all the time! Come on down. There might even be beers, but we can't guarantee that. We can guarantee that we'll be having beers, and isn't that just as good? Don't be a sucker, come witness HISTORY!

Second: Biz will be playing a FREE show with Torche (!) Wednesday, 8/5 at the Knitting Factory. It's sponsored by Scion (makers of the best bread box shaped car on the market) and Vice magazine (makers of the best magazine to snort bad coke off of). YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE SCION AND/OR VICE WEBSITE TO RSVP. Frankly, we're short on the details. We're not even sure when we're supposed to show up, but we're confident that representatives from both of these fine companies with figure it out. As will you.

At any rate, we're stoked to play/hang with our old pals Torche. All you have to do is promise to buy a Scion when you get re-employed and to not tell anyone about the Vice intern that cries in the bathroom when he can't get it up after his all day coke bender. Sad. Let's party!
