The Return of the Meatmen

Friday May 22nd, THE MEATMEN are returning to the City of Devils for a show at the Relax Bar with IT'S CASUAL, Tony Alves's GENERAL FUCKING PRINCIPLE and others. Tesco Vee will be fronting them; that is all you need to know. As I waxed philosophic about the mighty MEATMEN, The Editor began to panic at the prospect of another Professor Bunkum publish or perish submission. So I’ll keep it short (relative to past performance).

You think you are ahead of the underground? How about starting a little fanzine called Touch & Go in the 1979 and bailing out before the label of the same name got started. You think you are punk? How about having Ian MacKaye produce your solo EP and getting the Minor Threat band to back you up.

Finally, you think you are an equal opportunity offender to the arrogant, self-important and/or ignorant denizens of this wasted landscape?? Puhlease…How about these gems among dozens of others:

“I’m Glad I’m Not a Girl,” “Tooling for Anus,” “Crippled Children Suck,” “French People Suck,” “Pope on a Rope,” “Vegetarian on a Stick,” “I Sin for a Living,” Orgy of One,” “True Grit,” “Wine Wenches and Wheels,” “We Hate this Riff,” “Petrified Whitey.” The Meatmen in Hollywood this Friday night. I might even drag out Ed Colver from his art bunker. Hope to see you there.
