Southern Lord Invades SXSW

For those of you heading to Austin in a few weeks for SXSW, here's what's going on with the bands from LA's own Southern Lord:

Friday, March 20th

First, a Southern Lord showcase at Snake Eyes Vinyl (outside) @ 1101 Navasota St. in Austin featuring:

12:30 - IT'S CASUAL
1:30 - EAGLE TWIN
2:30 - BLACK COBRA
3:30 - THOU

Then later that night, the SXSW Southern Lord showcase outside at Emo's Annex @ 603 Red River Rd. in Austin. This is one of the label's most important and potent showcases ever, featuring some of the label's most prominent contemporary acts (including Wolves In The Throne Room, Wino), some of the label's newest signings (Black Cobra, Eagle Twin, Pelican) and plenty of other hearty acts including Thou and It's Casual... A night of massive riffery and debauchery for all!

Saturday, March 21st

Scott "WINO" Weinrich will be performing a solo acoustic set at High Times Magazine's 2009 Doobie Awards party. The party is from "high" Noon through 6 PM at Red 7 @ 611 E. 7th Street in Austin.    

Sunday, March 22nd

Southern Lord artists WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM and newest label signings PELICAN will be playing at Red 7 @ 611 E. 7th Street in Austin.  We will post set times if we get them.
