Baroness @ The Troubadour

Here are some pictures of John Baizley and Pete Adams from last week's BARONESS show at the Troubadour, courtesy of J. Bennett.  BARONESS seems to be enduring somewhat of a backlash in the wake of being named Decibel Magazine's album of the year.  I guess any honor smokes out the detractors.  While I'm not yet convinced the Blue Record lives up to the promise of the Red Album, plenty of people I respect see it the other way, and there's no doubt this wave of criticism is unwarranted and reactionary.  The ample crowd at the Troubadour certainly didn't give a shit, and fed off the band's always impressive energy in a way you grow unaccustomed to at a midweek LA show.  Speaking of J. and Decibel, be sure to take in the latest installment of his Cry Now, Cry Later column from that publication which was just made available on his blog of the same name this evening.
