Shrinebuilder Redux

The last two weeks have been pretty crazy on the LA metal scene.  It seems like it was a long time ago when we posted our interview with Church of the 8th Day's Daniel Dismal that yielded more traffic to the blog than we had ever expected.  Hopefully some of the people who discovered us for the first time have stuck around.  And although that post was in part a sobering reflection on the state of the undergound, it was followed by a steady flow of excellent shows that culminates tonight with Heathenfest.  For many people I've talked with, their personal highlight of the last 14 days was the jam-packed SHRINEBUILDER show at Viper Room.  The most frustrating aspect of the show was trying to decide which one of those guys to focus on.  The problem was solved the easy way - by closing me eyes.  I can finally tell people that that I was starstruck in LA.  It's still kind of shocking that those guys chose this city as the place to kick off their American tour.  Scott Kelly, at least, had no regrets about the decision:

We played the set twice it was great. The people that came out were exactly who we had hoped would come out, fucking die hards.

Our guy Eddie Solis (It's Casual) put this gig together for us and I can't speak high enough about the guy, he is true blue and he literally lives for music. The Viper Room itself and the staff that run it couldn't have been cooler, it was the perfect venue for this show.  The experience will be easier to digest in a week or a month then right now, but the feeling of all this work and dedication finally taking form in a live setting is really overwhelming.

They liked it so much word on the street is they may return to that venue for another show in the not so distant future.

Invisible Oranges reviewed the show, and interviews with the band can be found at Cerebral Metalhead and The Obelisk.  These videos have made the rounds, but in case you haven't already enjoyed them, please do:
