Ufomammut @ Nomad Art Compound

We just got this announcement in our inbox.  I must admit to be stunned that this show is happening. Here it is in its raw form:

The Art of MALLEUS and The Music of UFOMAMMUT
Friday, October 16th
8 pm | Nomad Art Compound 1993 Blake Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90039 | 21+ | $10

Presented By Hellfire Red Rock Art & Photography

Last year's Malleus exhibit at Los Angeles' Soap Plant was met with critical
acclaim and generated interest in bringing the artist's music to America. It
is no small wonder that the psychedelic sounds generated by Ufomammut has
created an equally maniacal cult following, parallel to the explosive poster
art of Malleus. This band is recognized worldwide as the creators of a
unique brand of psychedelic sludge. With long songs and massive effects,
Ufomammut is right there along the side of Neurosis, combining their
monumental riffing attitude with the psychedelia of the more visionary Pink
Floyd. The band is a powerful wall of sound, weaving their intrinsic dream
state whilst able to hypnotize and spellblind the listener with obsessive
dilatations approaching drone music. The Peculiar charm of the sound of
Ufomammut continues to defy pigeon-holing. The two groups (as one) work in
conjunction as Ufomammut's live show is supported by their internationally
acclaimed video and graphic art. The experience conjures the entirety of
sound and vision, impacting the mind.

The event will be graced with the music of MOAB, a heavy psychedelic 3-piece
that has already begun to capture the hearts of many Los Angeles time
traveling demons. Once you feast your ears on Moab's irresistible riffs, no
other din will ever suffice. Other special guests are soon be announced, so
please stay tuned to this station for further details.

The Nomad Art Compound located North of Silver Lake in Frogtown is an
eclectic mecca of the Los Angeles creative class. This location in the heart
of the Elysian Valley is a dynamic energy of creative vibe, providing the
perfect environment to set the stage for an aural-aesthetic assault on your
senses.

As a collective, Hellfire is proud to align ourselves with these
groundbreaking groups who share the mission to raise the visual side of
Music to an Art level.

Nomad is becoming my favorite place to see shows, despite the so-so sound inside the gallery. Good indoor/outdoor ambiance, cheap beer, good crowds and 1$1 tacos across the street in some dude's backyard. This show looks to be a highlight in a great summer of music.
