Friday, October 16, 2009 Our ticket giveaways for KMFDM, THE ACCUSED and BUTTHOLE SURFERS/THE MELVINS all come to a close at 12 pm Friday and the winners will be notified by 1 pm. All I can say about the last one is that we've received a shitload of entries, yet nobody has correctly identified the band and the two LA venues depicted in those two photos. Only one of you has been 2/3 correct. It's tough, but I promise you a little creative web research will yield the answer. Even recordings from those shows (hint: the year is 1982) are floating around in cyberspace. The answers and a few more personal shots of the band will be posted tomorrow
If none of the giveaway shows get you excited, there's plenty of other outstanding options this weekend in the City of Devils. You've got UFOMAMMUT'S first U.S. show ever, a dress rehearsal by local boys INTRONAUT as they prepare for their first tour of India (they will play their last album Prehistoricisms in its entirety, including the 16 minute instrumental "The Reptilian Brain", which they have never played live before), and all the way from Philly, the insane metal jazz of DYSRHYTHMIA (also the new rhythm section for GORGUTS) along with one of our former Bands of the Week (we need to resurrect that feature), NATIONAL SUNDAY LAW.
